In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the top communication apps in France on the Android platform showed interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps experienced varied patterns in downloads, revenue, and active users.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads starting at approximately 91K, peaking at 97K mid-January, before gradually declining to about 56K by the end of March. Despite this decline in downloads, weekly active users remained stable, increasing slightly from 34M to 34.1M throughout the quarter.

Snapchat saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching around $78K by the end of March. Downloads decreased from 69K at the start of the quarter to 52K by the end. However, weekly active users showed resilience, rising from 9.6M to over 10M.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. had a modest weekly revenue, peaking at about $1K at the end of March. Downloads fluctuated, with a low of 40K in late February, bouncing back to 45K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed a slight decline, ending at around 13.5M.

Telegram experienced an increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $23K by the end of March. Downloads started at 64K, dropping to 39K by quarter-end. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 5.5M.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out showed a notable rise in revenue, peaking at $51K in early March. Downloads were relatively stable, hovering around 25K to 32K. Active users saw a slight increase, ending the quarter at 2.8M.
